God
Is one divine, personal, eternal being. He is the creator of everything. He makes himself known to us as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Humanity
Was created by God to reflect his nature, which is creative and good, and to be at one with God. Humanity lost this privilege through sin - making wrong moral choices. People are therefore born estranged from God, yet he loves them and desires reconciliation.
Jesus Christ
Is the personal expression of God who entered the realm of time. As the divine Son of God he shared our world to show us the life that God intended for human beings. His life, death and raising to eternal life are the means by which we may receive a spiritual, eternal rebirth, and thus become once more at one with God.
The Bible
Is a divinely-inspired revelation of who God is and what he is like. It is the record of God's dealings with his creation. The words of the Bible are divine and express all that human beings need to know for this life and for eternity. The Good News of Jesus Christ - contained in the gospels - offers the gift of life with God for eternity. The New Testament contains all teaching necessary for the Church's existence and mission.
The Christian Faith
Is expressed in turning from one's own way of life and accepting the gift of God's way of life in Jesus Christ. It involves asking and receiving God's forgiveness for the past, and accepting the offer of eternal life by declaring Jesus Christ to be Saviour and Lord. This step of faith is followed up by being baptised as a believer in Jesus Christ. The Christian continues to live as one who is following the lifestyle of Jesus Christ
The Church
The Church of Christ consists of all persons who follow him. It is expressed locally as a community of Christians, meeting together for personal encouragement and to pass on the Good News of eternal life through faith in Christ, so that others may hear and believe. The Church could be described as a community of:
The local church has no central goverment - it is a group of Christians who function together under the guidance of God, and they are solely responsible to him for the life of the local church community.
The local church will seek and forge links with other Christian churches.
The Mission
God entrusts Christians with the task of showing the life of his Son, Jesus Christ to the world. Christians do this by imitating the life and ministry of Jesus and sharing the Good News. The Good News is about wholeness, healing, and peace of body, mind and spirit through faith in Jesus Christ, and eternal life in God's care. The desire is for all people to have this experience and relationship with God.
