A Work in Progress (Jul-Sep 2010)

This is a ten-week series based on the books of the New Testament for the purpose of building up the local church. We are not alone in this work. Jesus promised the gift of the Holy Spirit to his followers after his ascension. The Holy Spirit gives gifts and produces fruits in us as we let him have all our lives in the service of Christ and the Kingdom.
In this series we can look at some of the places where we can find strength and encouragement in the difficulties and joys of everyday life and witness.
From finding peace as God's children we can build up others, as well as ourselves, and let this power spill over to reach those who as yet do not know Christ as Lord and Saviour, so that they too may be won by, and for him.

United Love (May-June 2010)

There is a way to achieve love and unity in the church community, among Christians and with people in general. The correct starting point is crucial. To start trying to get people united and then work towards love is a false trail. The witness of the Bible is to start with the love of God. This is expressed as follows:
1. God loves us
2. He wants us to love Him as a response to His love
And when we have received God’s love and are expressing our love to Him in return for his love (seen supremely in Christ’s sacrifice for us on the cross), and only then
3. We show our love to each other

This is the basis for unity –the foundation of God’s love to us and our love for Him, flowing over into love for each other.
This series will address this Biblical principle.
