Givers and Takers
Christians can often see themselves as being the Givers in relation to God and other people; whereas this should be the case, it is because God has first given us life and the world in which we live that we respond to his gifts. Through the gift of himself in Jesus Christ he gives the offer of new, eternal life with him now, and beyond this world. God is therefore the principle Giver, and our position of being primarily a Taker, leads us to imitate God, and to become a Giver too.
